Go back

last night
Muscovy ducks floated through
my dreams ...
this morning, I swallow back
an unsung love song

I long
to soar again
wrap me
in the soft down
of your warm wings

when finally
my chest was opened
to mend this ailing heart
they found a small boy
playing hide-and-seek

Cinqku Noir

her lips
painted dark
with black nightshade—
one long kiss to guide this
last dream
